Couple o' Friends Play
I know some people have something against watching LPs (let's plays) and LPers. They usually ask why you don't just pick up the game and play it yourself- but I think they're missing a vital part of what makes LPs so entertaining; the LPers themselves.
Usually the best thing to do after an exhausting day is to laugh, and no group of LPers make me laugh more than the Achievement Hunters from Rooster Teeth- I even did my website assignment on them! They may not be everyone's cup of tea, but there's something about watching someone else's reactions to playing video games that is really entertaining. The combination of people in AH and how they interact with one another makes me laugh, it's basically just a bunch of friends all playing together, except this is their job. It gives me an odd sense of contentment that there's a bunch of guys hanging around in an office playing video games. Of course, Rooster Teeth as a company produce other material, but the steady and reliable upload of AH videos each week makes me grin thinking about it.
This is one of my favourite videos, just because of how chaotic it is. Please be mindful of some course language!
Just coming home and watching them during a break gives me enough laughter to let a bad day go :)

X-Men: Days of Future Past
Alright guys, no surprise here, I'm a comic book fan. And I'll let you know something, the X-Men are my favorite comic series ever. Now combine this information with the fact that I'm also an avid film fanatic and well...I get pretty damn excited about new X-Men movies, such as this one - X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Now let me give you a little background information. "Days of Future Past" is a classic story arc of the X-Men that was published during 1981. It has since become known as the staple story that people associate the X-Men with within comic book culture. In this arc, mutants are being actively and publicly hunted/killed by giant robots called 'Sentinels'. Believing the only way to prevent this mutant genocide from happening, Shadowcat (Kitty Pryde) travels back into the past to stop the Sentinel Program from the beginning.
The film combines the cast of the original X-men film with their younger counterparts from X-Men: First Class. It's incredibly awesome, and completely unprecedented in comic book movies. This could very well be a more ambitious project than The Avengers - in terms of all the characters director Bryan Singer is putting on screen. Here is the final trailer:
Honestly, if this movie is a disappointment, I will never be excited for another movie as much as I am excited for this one ever again. MAY 22 is the release date in Australia, definitely check this movie out.

What make you happy?
What makes me happy?
For me? GAMES, woooooooooooo!!
Whether it being the joy of winning a strategic game with friends like DOTA (Defence of the Ancients), or even shooting people in the head... wait, that didnt come out so well! Cannot wait till Watch Dogs to come out, if you don't know what it is, it's pretty much a game where the protagonist is a crazy hacker, and is set around the information warfare.
Watching anime is also one thing that provides me with happiness, theres this anime called Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou, where it translates to daily lives of normal high school boys. Its pretty much about what the title says, the daily lives of high school boys, where they talk about the most ridiculous things, including role playing of monsters, what it would be like to be a girl, how to pick up girls, you just have to watch an episode and see the endless laughs from the anime.
Nevertheless, an awesome game that is coming out!!
Anyways have a nice day

Snapsterpiece.
Lol finally, a snapchat blog!
.. Random videos of yourself or your friends (Waddap Indian kids with an obsession for brooms and fob sunnies!..)
So snapchat is essentially this application where you can take pictures/videos and only view them for a maximum of 10 seconds, and then they are gone forever (or atleast, we think they do)
You can send things that range from simple things like random food that you see...
.. Selfie with your friends and family..
.. your stupidity..
.. Random videos of yourself or your friends (Waddap Indian kids with an obsession for brooms and fob sunnies!..)
..To finally your very own snapsterpiece!!
If only I could screenshot my friends snapchats :( :D
That feel after a really long day and then you have friends who send you the random-est/crazy stuff which makes you contemplate your life and get you to realise.. Life isnt as bad afterall :)

Never Back Down
Like every other person, I like to watch a good movie from time to time. However, rarely do I come across a movie that motivates me and makes me feel like I have to never give up. One movie that made me feel this way was Never Back Down.
There are two movies in the Never Back Down series themed around MMA fighting, with both giving strong messages about not giving up and reaching your full potential. The first movies tagline is "Win or lose...Everyone has their fight". This tagline can relate to anything in life, whether it be uni work, work, sport or personal matters that make you want to give up and throw in the towel, remember that everyone has their own fight.
Both movies contain protagonists that have personal problems ranging from their dad dieing and blaming themselves, to struggling to support their family. We see them progress the various stages, including giving up and not wanting to fight again. However in the end like in most movies they pull through and achieve what they have been fighting so hard for.
So remember guys, no matter how hard life gets and no matter how much you wanna give up, remember to NEVER BACK DOWN!

Music Is My Saviour
Music. Music is one of those things that just works on every occasion and for every mood. Whether I am angry and want to lash out at the next person I see, or feeling down or sad due to certain reasons, I know i can always find a song that will make me feel better.
Whenever I am angry I tend to listen to rock, metal or some really hardcore gangsta rap that just seems to let me burn out that anger by putting it in context to the long lyrics or making me jump around like some crazy person. Ha ha. When I'm down and gray I listen to motivating songs, something that makes me look at myself in the mirror and say "Listen buddy, you need to get your stuff together. There's no time to feel down and let the world pass by."Something like the theme to Rocky, because we all know that motivates like crazy.
To finish off here are some of my favorite songs to get me pumped up and feeling good as new again.
Faydee- Unbreakable
Limp Bizkit- Break Stuff
Gym Class Heroes- The Fighter Ft. Ryan Tedder
Rocky Theme
Hope you enjoy them!

Deux Points
Sometimes it's difficult to feel optimistic about possible peace or calm when you watch the news. Sometimes I need to switch channels or turn off the TV completely and go do something else, because although staying up to date with the world is pretty important, it isn't a pick-me-up.
There is one thing that, if not gives me hope, then distracts me enough with glitter and wind machines to let me overlook nations' relations- and that is Eurovision.
If you aren't familiar with Eurovision, it is like Idol or X Factor, except each country sends one singing act to compete, and whoever wins hosts it the next year. Apparently Europe's answer to stopping wars was the express themselves through song. Just think, without Eurovision, there probably wouldn't be ABBA (who won in 1974 with none other than 'Waterloo').
I have literally been waiting all year for this year's Eurovision, and it's finally happening this weekend over 3 glorious nights, starting this Friday night. There are times when entrants have used their time onstage as a political platform, and it wouldn't be surprising if there is talk (or song) about the issues in Ukraine... however, it is an important part of Eurovision, and possibly a better platform than warfare. But it is so great to see all these countries come together and compete in song.
So tune in this weekend!! Semi finals 1 are on Friday, 2 on Saturday, and the grand final is on Sunday (on SBS)! Tune in, throw a Eurovision party (or join the one in the city) and look at for Jessica Mauboy! Europe love us so much, they invited us to send an Australian representative, so show your support! And remember, as Greece's 2013 entry reminds us, ALCOHOL IS FREE!
Don't forget to vote for your neighbouring countries! It's an age old European tradition!

Welcome to my world
Ever just stopped and stood in front of a nice immaculate view or something that just makes you sigh, and wonder how beautiful your world is? Whether it be a kodak moment like scene, where you are surrounded by snowy mountains like this:
Or maybe even just seeing the sun rise whilst on a Qantas Aeroplane
Okay you get my point, what i'm trying to say is whenever you go on a vacation or somewhere that is relaxing, stop for a minute and just think back on your life, have you made the most of it? Am I happy? [answer MUST ALWAYS BE YES by the way ;)], and what I question myself most is what happens from here on in? or in other words what do I want to achieve in life? Well you don't have to question yourself haha.. but what I'm saying is to try appreciate the small things in life because to be quite frank sooner or later, these things will gradually disappear, whether it be helping someone pick uni notes up, or maybe just saying thank you, or even just a smile. Trust me positive actions come with positive thinking , and by being positive no one can step in your way of life.
Inspirational Quote Time: If you put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and life. There are no limits, there are only plateaus and you must go beyond them!
Cheers, Have a nice day!

Shots Shots Shots
Don't get me wrong, I'm not one to dog on party-esque music, the kind you'd usually barely hear over a deep drum beat in a club about drinking, partying all night long, drinking some more, and not remembering the night but knowing it was probably pretty good -but it's not the kind of music I'd put on my mp3 player and listen to on the train ride to uni.
It's not often that there's a song about getting smashed that makes me want to listen to it on repeat. Sia's song Chandelier's lyrics are reminiscent of other songs about drinking, but there's something about the melancholic tone that really does it for me. The song is basically about how she's the person that everyone calls for a alcohol-fueled night out, getting smashed and forgetting about tomorrow, and then feeling shameful about it the next morning. I don't mind songs like that, but it's not often I actually go out of my way to listen to them... BUT I'M LIKE SO OBSESSED WITH THIS SONG!
I don't think it's the slower beat, because that's what Miley tried to do and to be honest We Can't Stop (video clip aside) turned out pretty... boring. Part of the reason could possibly be the ballad-like sweep of her voice, and that sincere crack in her voice when she sings about her tears... I don't know!! I just really like it! I don't think I'll be listening to Shots on repeat like this anytime soon, but this song really, I suppose you could say broadened my musical view a little.

Free Comic Book Day!
You know those days that you mark down on your calendar? Those days that you look excitedly forward to when you're sitting in the middle of your boring lecture or while your halfway through a shift at work.
Know what I'm talking about now? Yeah well on May 3rd (the first Saturday of May), the world celebrated Free Comic Book Day. FCBD is a day which aims to bring people together to celebrate the incredible art that is comic book writing, regardless of whether you're an avid comic book reader - which I am - or if you're completely new to the comic book universe.
In Sydney, my favorite comic book store exists on Pitt Street in the city. On Saturday, the temperature dropped, especially in the city. I, and many others, were forced to line up along Pitt St. in the cold, icy wind blasting us every few seconds, for about 30 minutes to just get into the store to prevent overcrowding. But believe me, once you got in there, it made everything worth it.
Needless to say, the day was incredibly awesome on so many levels. I met a whole bunch of really great people, got a bunch of new comics and some sweet freebies, such as a sketch of Batman by one of the comic artists who were at Kinokuniya!
So just remember, next year on the first Saturday of May, you might want to check out Free Comic Book Day!

Positive Thinking
Lifes too short to be filled with anger, stress and hate, let your inner happiness out!!
There's this quote that I have always lived by, "Keep your head held high, things will only turn to the best that way." This saying always helped me during difficult situations whether it be, a break up or losing a loved one, or even just feeling stressed from exams and work, by following this motto I realised how everything has dual perspectives. Why should I look at the negatives when I can keep my head up and stay on the positive side of things. When you're stuck in a negative spiral, talk to people who can put things into perspective and won't feed your negative thinking.
"Treat others the way you want to be treated" Although it might seem impossible but people tend to treat you better if you are nice and friendly. Also not caring about your ego as much has an GIGANTIC impact on the way we think and do, just keep these few points in mind :)
Believe me, smiling has an overall effect in terms of your attitude to difficult situations, your overall moods, and even your perspectives of life. Like I said before, tough situations should never pull or drag you down, tough situations only act as a barrier protecting you from harm. So remember to keep your head up and always keep on smiling! :)
Well, i really don't know what i'm saying any more, but in short, LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST! Don't let anything put you down, because YOU are the one living your life, its too short to worry about what others think about you! "LET IT GOOOOO LET IT GOOO" and .......................................be HAPPY!
Its proven to be good for your heart by just smiling! SO KEEP SMILING EVERYONE :)
P.S. Eat some Chocolate or Ice Cream, its yummy!

Winter
I hate winter.
A lot.
I think everyone does. And if they don’t, they should. It’s dreary and depressing and cold and miserable. Unless you lived in the middle east like I did when I was a kid, or somewhere close to the equator, where the sun goes down at the same time every night and the only 2 types of weather you ever experience are “hot” and “rainy”.
But I dont live in heaven anymore. I now live in a country where Christmas is in the middle of Summer where all you do on Christmas eve is throw some snags on the barbie and sit under an aircon rather than hanging stockings on the fireplace and making snowangels.
Me literally every day this week. WINTER, Y U MAKE ME SO GROGGY?
But there are some amazing things that I have been looking forward to.
No more #ISweatLikeAPig therefore #3ShowersADaySchedule, Awesome winter clothes, snuggling in bed, fuzzy socks, and lets not forget,
THAT FEEL, when you enter a warm room after fighting through the cruelty that nature calls "Winter".

Little Pigling
Being a procrastinator (Unlike 100% of uni students) (#Sarcasm), leaving assignments until last minute = every students biggest nightmare. Pre-assignment submission STRESS. Guys. It sucks. 5 red bulls, 7 cups of coffee, all nighters. You dont want it.
There are times when you feel when your day absolutely could not get worse, and nothing could possibly make the day any better, along comes a little pigling to prove you wrong.

Can there BE anything cuter than a baby pressing their face up against a glass window, I dont think so. :)

Time For Training
Life can be a weird thing. Some days, your at the top of game, in control of what your doing and smoothly making your way through what needs to be done. Other days, life throws you a curve ball and makes you question what your really made of and whether you'll be able to make it through the tough times. Whether it be a ton of assignments, exams or even personal issues, life is there to test you every step of the way.
Now I am usually not the type of person that has longer periods of feeling down and gray, but I do have my days. When these days come I know I can turn to sport for some type of relief. Being a sports person for the majority of my life, its safe to say that something about sport or working out calms me down and lets me think more than say watching a movie or reading a book. Honestly I can't explain what it is, but when I train i get this sense of accomplishment, the feeling that I really can push myself to the absolute limit without worrying about the consequences and from that point on everything seems to be better.
Maybe its the sound of heavy weights hitting the floor after an intense weightlifting workout, or putting all your anger and emotions behind every kick in Muay Thai/Kickboxing. Maybe its the feeling that you put your heart and soul into your training and that the streams of sweat running down your face are proof that you can be your best when you want to be. What ever it is it works for me, and may even work for you. I leave you with this quote and a video. Remember stay safe and stay healthy!

Marvelous Marvel Movie Magic
The middle of semester is always a weird and difficult time. The 2 week break always seems to lure me into a false sense of security and comfort, and then BOOM it's crunch time; mid-semester tests, assignments and assessments, a buttload of new content... I know it's a 'study break' but going through the motions of uni for the first 6 weeks, it really always ends up with me grasping for straws of peace. And then it's another 6 weeks... after a while I start losing bits and pieces of contentment, always stressed out by uni, job prospects, responsibilities. Sometimes it feels like there isn't much to look forward to, short or long term. Sure, there's friends and family to catch up with and new people to meet, but that always ends up in conversations about yourselves, what you're doing, what you're going to do- it's too much sometimes!
This is where the movie magic comes in...
Seeing Captain America: The Winter Soldier was like a light at the end of a tunnel. I'd forgotten something that I'd been looking forward too for YEARS; Marvel movies. I remember I had a list of all set and planned movies for the next few years while I was in highschool (which I have lost), and while I have been excited for the movies coming out this year, seeing this movie just brought my enthusiasm roaring back.
I think what makes these movies so special to me may have to do with escapism, for a while it's easy to forget bad personal things or bad in the world in general... It unlocks a whole new world with characters I can relate to, and even the ones I can't form a connection with have their good points. It makes me wish they really existed (perhaps without the mass city destruction).
I may have had too many emotions about this movie, and The Amazing Spider-man 2, and they may have made me cry a lot, and they may not even be about real people... But they made me happy, and Marvel movies and Marvel in general make me happy, and with all the everyday stress, I think it's something I want to hold on to.
I know I know-
-but occasionally for 2 hours, and for fleeting moments when I zone out, AND when I find someone who's also interested, I can enjoy the Marvel Cinematic Universe and look forward to all the new ones (they've got plans until I'm 30+!).

Winner Stays On
We all have those days where we're feeling a little down in the dumps; the sky's grey and miserable and the universe seems to be telling you that today is just not your day. But then you watch a movie, read a book or listen to a song that somehow manages to pick you up and leave you feeling a little bit happier and maybe even excited.
HERE IS ONE OF THOSE THINGS!
Now, I'll be honest, I'm not even the biggest soccer fan out there in the world (I mostly follow the NBA - playoffs are currently on woo!) but when this Nike Ad came out about 4 days ago I watched it when it only had 11000 views, much much less than what it does now and I couldn't help but get pumped up and excited for the World Cup later this year.
The song is fast and catchy enough to get you into it, mixed with the star-studded list of players in the commercial (Ronaldo, Neymar Jr., Rooney) and even little cameos with Kobe Bryant and...the Hulk...this Ad is just a whole other level of awesome packed into just over 4 minutes.
I've gone on to show this link to my friends who've also all enjoyed it. But more importantly, it's gotten me excited and happy that the World Cup in Brazil is back and is only just 6 weeks away!

You should get excited too.
